The Dancing On Ice judges have spoken about their ‘toughest series’ yet as the show airs for the final time this year.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning three of the four judges pondered the final series. Karen Barber firstly joked about where Jason Gardiner was, she said, “He’s in a box somewhere and I’ve got the key! No, he’s flying in and returning tomorrow…”

Before explaining her feelings on returning to the series, “It’s an overwhelming excitement at the moment and probably by the end we will find the other emotion that yes it is really really sad, but we are very grateful that we’ve had so long and its been a gift to be honest.”

Ashley Roberts added, “I’m so grateful that they asked me back for the final season so I’m happy to be here, its going to be a lot of fun.”

Karen said, “For us, it will be a tough year for us judges…”

Robin Cousins added, “…and some will be performing with spouses so – as you two know – you have to leave the spouse part at home and walk into the studio… It’ll be very interesting…”

On offering the contestants advice this year, Karen explained, “It’s such a lottery the first two weeks because the public vote is very random and a lot of them have great tricks and are thinking of saving them for week 2 or 3 and I’m saying ‘you might not be here, so everything you’ve got put it in week 1’…”

Robin continued, “One of our strongest champions could be the first to leave!”

Dancing On Ice airs from this Sunday on ITV, STV and UTV
