Entertainment count down shows for Channel 5

Leslie Grantham as Den WattsChannel 5 have commissioned seven brand new shows for 2014 each shining a spotlight on the world of entertainment and showbiz. From the best action movies to telly’s nastiest villains.

For the first time, Channel 5 will be asking the Great British Public to cast their votes for each count down in special polls that will run online at www.channel5.com

These shows make for a fantastic night in and I hope there’s something to entertain everyone here. The Ultimate Action Movies is presented by the great action film star himself Vinnie Jones, this show will be rammed with the biggest movie stars, car chases, catchphrases, stunts, pyrotechnics and evil baddies as the channel count down the best action movies of all time.

Morecambe and WiseMost Shocking Moments in Pop relives those outrageous occurrences in the music world that sent Britain reeling over the last five decades. and in Britain’s Favourite Double Acts how do the legendary Morecambe and Wise compare to the Two Ronnies? How beloved are Ant and Dec? Or ice skating supremos Torville and Dean?

The Greatest Ever War Films looks at the wartime stiff upper lip tales of George Derring in The Dam Busters to the thought provoking horrors of the Vietnam War in Apocolypse Now. There is also a celebration of TV’s Greatest Detectives with Channel 5 charting the top 50 detectives of all time, featuring the most fabulous super sleuths and the stars that played them.

There will be plenty of booing with TV’s Nastiest Villains. Everyone loves a telly baddie from JR Ewing to Dirty Den, the channel will be counting down the men and women we love to hate. And its a happier chart rundown with the Greatest 80’s Movie Moments. This count down will list the films that made the 1980s the greatest decade ever for big screen entertainment.

We can’t wait to see who and what the Channel 5 viewers really think are the best of the best in these countdowns. But with so much great material to choose from, we think it’s going to be a close fought race for the number one spots – Emma Clarke, Executive Producer at Objective Productions.
