Odds slashed on Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie joining The X Factor

X-FactorFollowing reports that Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie is in talks with Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, one bookmaker has slashed their odds on the singer joinging the ITV search for a star series.

Following a decline in ratings ITV is pulling out all the stops in an attempt to restore the talent show’s fortunes. Recent series have seen BBC One lead the Saturday night viewing figures war, but the 2014 outing of The X Factor has so far seen the return of music mogul Simon Cowell and the girl with nice hair Cheryl Cole.

Today Paddy Power has announced that following press reports they have been forced to slash the odds on Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie taking up a hot seat as a judge on the show from an unlikely 25/1 to a high probable 2/5.

Fergie has come out of nowhere to storm the lead in the X Factor judging race, which at the moment is looking a bit like musical chairs. With Fergie looking like she is going to walk it, she has now overtaken previous favourite Olly Murs at 4/1 in the betting stakes and is way ahead of Rita Ora at 10/1, who was previously hotly tipped to be the one joining the show.
