The Extreme Sports Channel is to air Hot Dog Eating Contest from next month.
In the man-eats-dog world of competitive eating, it doesn’t get any bigger than the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest! Held yearly at famed Coney Island, the hot dogs and buns count goes up each year.
On July 4th, 2013, number one ranked competitive eater in the world, Joey Chestnut, became the first contestant to win seven titles by consuming 69 hot dogs in just ten minutes. The historic contest first began way back in 1916 at Nathan’s Coney Island flagship restaurant and has been held in the same spot ever since. Each year on Independence Day, watched by over 40,000 spectators, 20 competitive eaters line up behind an extravagant 30-foot table on a lively stage with only two things on their minds: hot dogs and victory.
The very best of Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is to air on the Extreme Sports Channel weeknights from the 21st to the 28th of April at 9pm.
