Short Poppies, written by and starring New Zealand actor and comedian Rhys Darby, will have its international premiere on Netflix next month.
The show follows journalist, David Farrier as he meets the not so ordinary characters in a small New Zealand town, all played by Darby. What we discover is that the ordinary New Zealander is anything but boring in, what Netflix describe as, a ‘hilarious, quirky mockumentary.’
Rhys Darby is best known internationally for his portrayal of Murray Hewitt in Flight of the Conchords. An accomplished comic actor and standup comedian, this is Darby’s first foray into writing and starring in his own vehicle.
Short Poppies makes its premiere on Netflix rom the 3rd of April where it will be available in America, Canada and the United Kingdom.
