Viewers of the popular BBC One telly quiz show Pointless, can now play the game anytime and anywhere with the Pointless App.
Production company Endemol UK announced the official app based on the game show has now launched on Android. Pointless hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman will guide players as they challenge friends or participate in their own game. Just like the TV show, obscure knowledge is the key to success and competitors must score fewer points than their opponent by giving an answer no-one else thought of.
“For ages people have been asking me why there isn’t a Pointless app and I always had to make up some sort of answer, “because of non-alignment of data across territories” – that one always worked better than “it’s because of the beavers”. Anyway now I don’t have to make stuff up anymore because the Pointless app… is HERE! Hooray! And it’s really, really good! Double hooray!” – Alexander Armstrong
The new app will allow players to go head to head with other Pointless fans via Facebook, email or at random and has over 1200 questions plus ‘Pointless Pointers’ to help anyone who gets stuck on a tricky question.
It also features a single player game where those who make it to the final round win a coveted Pointless trophy and a chance at nabbing the virtual jackpot. Users of the app can win trophies to climb the global leader board and show off Pointless knowledge.
“The new Pointless app is a great way for fans of the show to compete against each other and their friends, testing their knowledge of little known facts and figures. They might even get to play against me… if they do then I hope they will respectfully let me win” – Richard Osman
The official Pointless app is priced at £1.49, is now available on iOS, Google Play Store and Amazon Marketplace. To download the app: http://bit.ly/Pointlessapp
