Channel 4 has commissioned a one off feature documentary The World’s Best Diet which will explore some of the world’s most varied diets.
Jimmy Doherty and Kate Quilton travel around the globe, looking at the dietary habits of countries, tribes and communities, to trace the story of how eating habits across the planet have changed radically over the last 50 years, and how this has affected our health.
In Jimmy and Kate’s epic trip, we have taken 50 of the world’s diets and ranked them from the very worst to the very best, with the help of leading dietary experts. – Channel 4
On their journey around the world, they will set out to discover the differences in eating habits and the surprising similarities between countries thousands of miles apart. By looking at diets around the world from the very worst to the very best, they hope to understand what we in Britain should be eating and how we can improve our health and quality of life for our own families .
When it comes to the foods we eat, we’ve never had so much choice. But with all this variety at our fingertips, are we really aware of the health implications of what we are eating. It’s a journey that will lead to some shocking discoveries about the worst excesses our modern diet can lead to, but will also reveal some amazing discoveries about the diets that could prolong life. – Channel 4
Kate and Jimmy will visit nine countries in total, the broadcaster notes, in order to answer some pertinent questions. The World’s Best Diet will air on the network on the 30th June
