Poll Results: Which Axed BBC series would you save

SpooksFor the past week or so we’ve been asking our readers to vote for which axed BBC series (within the last year) they would save given the chance. Well the poll has closed and the results are in – so which series did ATV Today readers opt to save?

It was a close run thing in the first few hours of the poll between spy drama Spooks – which is currently airing its 10th and final series on Sunday evenings – and costume drama Lark Rise to Candleford. The BBC’s decision to axe the hugely popular Sunday evening drama sparked outrage from fans not just here in the UK but around the world. So its hardly surprisingly that throughout the poll it was Lark Rise that dominated it.

In fact it is Lark Rise to Candleford that the majority of our readers would opt to save if they could. In all 37.% of you voted for the costume drama proving that months after its finale the series still has a lot of Lark Rise to Candlefordfans. In second place and not all that far behind was Waking the Dead; the cold-case detective drama which starred Trevor Eve and Sue Johnston. A spin-off, The Body Farm starring Tara FitzGerald, is currently airing on Tuesday evenings on BBC One. But it seems that a lot of you want the real thing back – 33.5% of you in fact.

Comedy My Family only bowed out a few weeks ago on BBC One and it seems some of you are already missing it – it came third with 13.8% of the vote. Early on it was SpooksHustle that was leading the way in the poll but it quickly fell behind and ended up third with fourth with 8.4% of the vote. Con-drama came fifth with 4.4% of the vote and Italian detective drama Zen came last with 2.2% of the vote.

Spooks continues at 9pm on Sunday evenings on BBC One and The Body Farm airs on Tuesday evenings at 9pm on BBC One. You can read a review of the first episode of the Waking the Dead spin-off here >>
