Ratings Rise For House Finale

The big series finale of Hugh Laurie drama House saw ratings rise for the Fox series.

8pm: America’s Got Talent won the hour for NBC with its 18-49 rating of 3.1 but had 9.5 million viewers and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars wasn’t far behind with its 18-49 rating of 2.8. Dancing with the Stars was ahead though with total viewers pulling in 16.4 million viewers. A retrospective look at House before its big finale had 6.1 million viewers with a 2.0 rating for Fox. CBS and The CW opted for a night of repeats; How I Met Your Mother attracted 4 million viewers with a 1.3 rating followed by 2 Broke Girls which had 4.6 million viewers with a 1.6 rating. The CW’s repeat of ended drama One Tree Hill had just 602,000 viewers with a 0.3 rating.

After eight seasons and over 150 episodes medical drama House, starring Hugh Laurie, drew to an end. Fox announced earlier this year it had decided not to order an ninth season of House but gave producers enough time to wrap up the series. The big finale pulled in 8.7 million viewers at 9pm with a 2.9 18-49 rating. ABC’s The Bachelorette pulled in 7.7 million viewers with a 2.4 rating with NBC’s American Ninja Warrior also scoring a 2.4 rating but had 6 million viewers. CBS’s repeat of comedies Two and a Half Men and Mike and Molly entertained 7.1 million viewers and 6.3 million respectively with 18.49 ratings of 2.0 and 1.7. The CW aired another repeat of One Tree Hill which slipped to 524,000 viewers with a 0.2 rating.
