Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville are returning to BBC One with the forth series of Rip Off Britain which also includes a special event at one of Europe’s biggest shopping malls, the MetroCentre in Gateshead.

The successful consumer advice programme will be offering consumers free practical advice and help on the 16th and 17th of June at the shopping complex in the programmes pop-up shop where a team of experts will be on hand to offer problem-solving advice.

The team is excited to be coming to the MetroCentre, and as Angela Rippon says, it is the face-to-face element that is so appealing: “No one likes being taken for a ride or finding that they’ve been ripped off and cheated out of their hard-earned cash. The team at Rip Off Britain are real consumer champions. So this is your chance to get practical advice and help – face-to-face – with our experts. Come and join us. We could just be the solution to your problems!”

The shop will be open to visitors throughout the weekend of June 16th and 17th, but the team are also keen to hear from people in advance who could then be featured in the new series. Consumer experts will be there to offer general advice, assist with specific problems or queries – and give information to prevent consumers being ripped off.

Consumers are also encouraged to get in touch with the programme in advance – no matter how big or small their gripe – by emailing now or write to Rip Off Britain, 4th Floor, BBC Quay House, MediaCityUK, Salford, M50 2QH.

Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford (pictured right), Julia Somerville and their team will be in Lower Central Mall at the MetroCentre on Sat 16 June, 9am to 7pm, and Sunday 17 June, 11am to 5pm.
