Sunday evening ratings reveal more than 13 million viewers watched John Adeleye’s exit from The X Factor while Downton Abbey once again had nearly 9 million viewers.
Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor both performed strong for their respective broadcasters on Sunday evening as each show kicked off another hopeful. At 7.30pm on BBC One the Strictly Come Dancing results show had 9.9 million viewers which is up 900,000 viewers on last week’s figure. Meanwhile The X Factor had 13.6 million viewers for its results show with a peak of 15 million viewers. John Adeleye became the latest hopeful to be booted off The X Factor as only Louis Walsh, his mentor, voted to save him over Treyc Cohen. Elsewhere last night the third part of BBC One drama Single Father, starring David Tennant and Suranne Jones, had 4 million viewers – representing another drop in figures. The drama launched two weeks ago with 4.8 million viewers and has dropped since with last week’s second instalment having 4.3 million viewers. The same can’t be said for Downton Abbey over on ITV1 at 9pm which continues to attract big audiences. Last night’s episode of the Julian Fellowes penned drama had 8.8 million viewers – similar to its rating for last week’s episode.
