Dancing on Ice continued to attract strong ratings for ITV1 on Sunday Evening as Boyzone singer Mikey Graham was voted out of the competition after a “skate-off” with former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook. On BBC Two the start of new documentary series Wonders of the Solar System, fronted by Professor Brian Cox, got off to a decent start with nearly 3 million viewers.
Dancing on Ice continued to perform well for ITV1 on Sunday evenings with 8.2 million viewers tuning in for the first instalment of the celebrity dancing competition. The edition saw former Coronation Street actor Danny Young dance topless for part of his performance. Following the first instalment was popular African based drama Wild at Heart drew 7 million viewers. The results show of Dancing on Ice followed with 7 million viewers tuning in. The judges decided to vote off Boyzone singer Mikey Graham after a “skate-off” between him and former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook.
New BBC Two documentary series Wonders of the Solar System got off to a decent start at 9pm. The five part series is fronted by Professor Brian Cox and nearly 3 million viewers tuned in for the opening instalment which focused on our Sun and Earth. Overnight figures reveal that 2.8 million tuned in. Before Wonders of the Solar System was Lambing Live, fronted by Kate Humble, which attracted 2.2 million viewers for BBC Two.
Over on BBC One in the evening and Countryfile had 6 million viewers, Antiques Roadshow had 7 million viewers and period drama Lark Rise to Candelford was seen by 6 million viewers. David Dimbleby’s Seven Ages of Britain had 3.8 million viewers at 9pm.
