BBC One’s The Apprentice had the better of the British Soap Awards on ITV1 last night while Waterloo Road held steady in the ratings.
The seventh season of The Apprentice, fronted by Lord Alan Sugar, continued on BBC One last night. The British Soap Awards over on ITV1 proved no match for it as 7 million viewers tuned in to BBC One at 9pm. The British Soap Awards meanwhile averaged 5.2 million viewers for ITV1 from 8pm which is down slightly on last years 5.4 million viewers. It was only narrowly ahead of BBC One drama Waterloo Road, starring Robson Green and Amanda Burton, which had 5.1 million viewers at 7.30. The shows slightly earlier time-slot, it previously aired at 8pm, has benefited the show with slightly higher ratings compared with its last season.
