CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory topped the ratings of Thursday evening while the mid-season finale of The Vampire Diaries rated well.
At 8pm the comedy dominated the ratings with the biggest overall audience and the biggest 18-49 audience. The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory had 15.6 million viewers with a 5.2 18-49 rating. It was followed on the broadcaster by Rules of Engagement which had 11.7 million viewers with a 3.6 18-49 rating. Community on NBC was seen by 3.4 million viewers with a 1.5 18-49 rating followed by Parks and Recreation which had 3.5 million viewers and 1.8 rating. The X Factor on Fox had 10.2 million viewers with a 3.3 rating while Charlie’s Angels continued to play out the remainder of its episodes on ABC withy 5.1 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 rating. The mid-season finale of The Vampire Diaries on The CW had 3.3 million viewers overall with a 1.4 18-49 rating.
At 9pm medical drama Grey’s Anatomy on ABC pulled in 11.1 million viewers with a 4.0 18-49 rating – winning the hour. The Office on NBC had 5.8 million viewers with a 3.0 rating followed by Whitney with 4.3 million viewers and 2.1 18-49 rating. Detective drama Bones on Fox was seen by 8.8 million viewers with a 2.7 rating while a repeat of Person of Interest on CBS had 9.1 million viewers and a 2.0 rating. The mid-season finale of new drama series The Secret Circle pulled in 2.1 million viewers and had a 0.8 rating for The CW. At 10pm Private Practice on ABC had 7.6 million viewers with a 2.9 18-49 rating while Prime Suspect continued to limp on NBC with 4.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.
