BBC Two’s three-part series of The Normans, part of the channels season on the conquerors, concluded its run last night with over 2 million viewers. Elsewhere the figures for The One Show dip slightly following its strong performances on Monday and Tuesday.
BBC Two’s three-part series of The Normans, part of the channels season on the conquerors, concluded its run last night with over 2 million viewers. The final part of the documentary series focused on the Normans lands outside of England and Normandy – such as their conquest of Southern Italy, Sicily and the first Crusade against the Muslims in the ‘Holy Country’. The documentary opened strongly two weeks ago with 3 million viewers while last week’s second episode drew 2.5 million viewers. The third and concluding part saw ratings rise slightly with 2.6 million viewers. Also at 9pm was The Secret Tourist on BBC One which had 4 million viewers while ITV1 had 3.2 million for Police, Camera Action! The Raoul Moat Tapes on Channel Four attracted 1.6 million viewers at 9pm.
Elsewhere last night Celebrity Masterchef for BBC One at 8pm had 4.6 million viewers while Coast on BBC Two had 2.6 million and an episode of Emmerdale – a schedule change – had 6.4 million viewers followed by Coronation Street at 8.30 with 7 million viewers. The mid-week edition of The One Show saw ratings dip slightly from the strong figures of Monday and Tuesday. According to overnight ratings it had 3.8 million viewers at 7pm against the normal edition of Emmerdale which had 6.5 million viewers.
