New research has revealed ITV’s breakfast magazine programme Daybreak is still unpopular with viewers despite its ratings having stabilised.
According to The Sun the new research has revealed that the GMTV replacement programme still hasn’t managed to win over viewers and is actually the least popular programme on television! The Audience Appreciate Index has revealed that, for several weeks, Daybreak has scored a low 60 with viewers. Viewers rate shows between 1 and 100 with a score in the 80s considered excellent and a score in the 60s or under considered poor.
However, those viewers who are polled for the Audience Appreciate Index is very small, just 20,000. So why does Daybreak rate so poorly with those asked? Well according to those who voted criticisms were made of the set and the presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley who were poached by ITV last year from The One Show. ITV had high hopes for Daybreak hoping it would revitalise the broadcasters breakfast fortunes following the decline of GMTV. Sadly for ITV ratings went into a freefall and plummeted far below GMTV‘s woes but have now stabilised.
