Your Favourite Teen Drama: The Results

Gossip GirlLast week we asked you to choose between your favourite teen-drama from a mixture of American and British dramas. From British supernatural series Hex through to Gossip Girl, the bitchy American series that has shown how teens use modern technology – such as Social Networking sites – against each other. Now we reveal the winner, the one teen drama you rated above the others.

The results of the poll are certainly interesting with the top two places going to two drama’s that One Tree Hillare still on-air while the 3rd, 4th and 5th places are taken up by British drama’s. The two leaders, from early on in the poll, were One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl who were constantly alternating between 1st and 2nd place as the other pulled ahead. At the end of the week though it was One Tree Hill which had pulled enough ahead to secure the first place with 45% and 504 votes. Slipping behind at the last minute was Gossip Girl, which lost out to One Tree Hill in the last few hours, with the drama pulling in 41% and 454 votes. Interesting both dramas in America air on The CW.

As previously stated the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions were taken up by the British drama’s in the poll. E4 drama Skins which recently finished its fourth season, and has been re-commissioned for a fifth and sixth season, had 4% and 44 votes. Sky One’s supernatural series Hex with in 4th place with 2.3% and 26 votes while Channel Four’s As If had 1.9% and 21 votes.

Fox drama The O.C, which when it was on air was far more popular than One Tree Hill, was in 902106th place with 1.9% and 21 votes. The revived 90210, another CW drama, was only slightly behind it with 1% and 11 votes – as was the revived Melrose Place which is also a CW drama series. The revived Melrose Places looks set to be cancelled by The CW because of low ratings whereas 90210 has been given a third season – but in our poll they were neck and neck but also more importantly ahead of both original series’. The original 90210, Beverly Hills 90210, had 0.5% and 5 votes as did the original Melrose Place and Dawson’s Creek.
