Pick of the Plots: Wednesday December 19th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Brian is sent home during the final nativity run through by Phil for exhaustion, however after drowning his sorrows in the Rovers, Brian returns to watch the show with Cathy. He watches as Phil paints himself a hero to the governors. When Jack spots Brian he, Liam and the others revert to the rap version of the play which is a resounding success.

Jealous Phil calls Brian up on stage but as Brian takes a bow, Phil hitches his belt to the Angel Gabriel’s harness and hoists him in the air. Phil looks on smugly. Later, Phil follows Brian to the Rovers and lunges at him.

Meanwhile, Sophie is resentful of Gina and Tim’s cosy set-up, and is further annoyed when Paula rejects the idea of launching an appeal and presents her with a big bill for her services. Sophie suggests that Tim sells his half of Street Cars, reporting his refusal to do so back to Sally. Later, Sophie is shocked to find Tim has put No.4 on the market.

Elsewhere, Jenny returns home and gives Johnny short shrift; later a wine-guzzling Jenny tracks Liz’s movement on her app, accidentally smacking herself in the face on a cupboard door. Jenny spots a DVD of ‘Personal Services’ on a shelf and puts it into the DVD player. She logs on to an escort website, clearly plotting something.

Also, Johnny invites Kate to move into the Rovers.

Coronation Street, Wednesday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Jacob confides in Ellis, however Ellis feels he can’t keep what he was told to himself and tells David that Jacob is seeing an older girl. Maya angrily confronts Jacob and coldly tells him to leave her alone and to keep quiet. Jacob is left heartbroken.

PC Swirling arrives and explains there have been developments in Amelia’s case and they reckon Amelia knows more than she’s letting on.

Elsewhere, Harriet seeks out volunteers for the choir; Faith continues with her plan to get Pollard to kick Rodney out.

Emmerdale, Wednesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Sinead tells Juliet that she’s allowed to perform in the play after all, but then decides to get her own back on Donna-Marie for blackmailing her.

Sinead plants drugs in Donna-Marie’s bag and tweets about it, but her plan backfires when Donna-Marie takes to the school stage and exposes her as a prostitute.

Elsewhere, Luke gives Mandy advice when she visits him in prison; Liam and Lisa try to sell some dodgy vodka to Brody.

Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Mrs Tembe is starting to ask questions about Daniel’s absence, but Zara doesn’t let on the real reason why he’s not there. Later, Mrs Tembe needs Daniel’s signature, and Zara is about to fake it when she is caught out. Zara has no choice but to tell her that Daniel has left. A concerned Mrs Tembe suggests calling the police but Zara doesn’t think it necessary.

Meanwhile, Laura comes in to see Ruhma, concerned about some blood appearing. Laura wonders if she might be pregnant, and Ruhma advises her to go to the IVF clinic. When the Wades’ financial struggle comes up again, Ruhma offers them a loan.
