A look at the latest storylines from the UK and Australian soaps….
Kat and Alfie prepare to celebrate their joint stag and hen party.
Kat’s happiness is short-lived when she makes a worrying discovery on the family computer and assumes Alfie is to blame.
Meanwhile, at The Vic, the karaoke party is a flop and Elaine is furious when Kim reveals that Cindy’s re-launch party is a success. Head to the ‘Dales of Decomposition’. There’s a pong in the pond and it’s not just rotting algae. The mystery corpse – to the villagers – pulled from the lake turns out to be none other than Nate, as viewers have known since the limo crash a few weeks ago. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any murkier in the Dales…
Down at the farm, DC Cole casually drops the bombshell that Nate’s been bobbing about so long, Cain isn’t even allowed to view the remains. Moira’s horrified. Cain? Stunned into silence he’s hit with dramatic flashbacks of their last blazing row. But true to form, he plays it cool in front of the cops. (If “cool” includes staring off into the distance like a man haunted by every bad decision he’s ever made.)
Meanwhile, poor Tracy gets the devastating news, and it’s not long before the village rumour mill goes into overdrive. As she tearfully pieces together Nate’s final days, Cain finds himself squarely in the frame, thanks to a conveniently timed punch-up with the deceased.
As the net tightens, Cain’s temper frays and even Chas starts squinting at him like he’s just served up mystery black pudding. Desperate to play the good guy, Cain offers Tracy a shoulder to cry on—which only makes her more suspicious. “Since when is Cain empathetic?” she whispers to Vanessa, who responds with a meaningful sip of her wine.
With grief, suspicion, and emotional repression bubbling away like Moira’s questionable stew, it’s only a matter of time before secrets boil over.
