Unscrupulous Joel convinces Avani that Barney is to blame for the angry situation, and she storms out. Later, Avani and Joel are smoking weed together when he makes a move on her.

Elsewhere, Johnny lays his cards on the table with Felix. Meanwhile, Anna heads to The Albert to try and mend her relationship with Gina.

Sonny’s been helping Theo with his car, whining about Remi all the while. Theo calls him out for this, urging him to cut the guy some slack. It’s not all been sunshine and roses for him, as much as it might seem that way. After Sonny learns that Bree lost her dad a year ago, they have a meaningful heart-to-heart as he opens up about losing his grandma, and they share in their experiences of loss. Later, Remi offers to take Bree for a ride to visit her dad’s grave, suggesting it would also be a good opportunity for him to meet her mum. Bree’s thrilled, and they head off together, while Sonny helps Theo with a day’s work at the caravan park but refuses to take any of the money when they’re done. Justin’s impressed – Sonny seems like he’s a great guy.

Roo and Eliza bump into Tane, who excitedly shows them Harper’s latest scan. Eliza eyes the photo of the unborn child, oddly mesmerized by the sight of it. Meanwhile, Marilyn notices that more money has gone missing from her bag. That’s the second time, since Eliza moved in.

Alf and Justin remind her that she shouldn’t throw around an accusation like that unless she’s completely sure. That evening, Eliza asks Roo if they can go shopping for activewear ahead of the youth program. Roo hesitates, considering the price of activewear these days. Eliza claims she has her own money to pay for it with, and Marilyn overhears. Does she really have her own money? Choosing the right moment, Marilyn sits down with Roo to raise her concern but gets bluntly shut down and accused of being judgmental.

Eliza arrives to the youth program and Roo’s request to hover and observe is denied by Tane – this program is for the kids, not the parents. Surrounded by rebellious youths, Eliza keeps quietly to herself. She offers to help Tane carry his bags outside, and behind his back, pockets the photo of Harper’s scan that caught her attention earlier. Her sneaky act doesn’t go entirely unnoticed. One of the boys, Scott, confronts her, telling her she should do the right thing and put it back. She bluntly tells him to keep his mouth shut.

When Scott doesn’t back down, she clocks him right in the face. Mesmerized by Scott’s nosebleed, Eliza delivers him a final warning to keep quiet about what he saw. But Tane sees her standing over him, and he’s deeply troubled – has his niggling intuition about Eliza been right all along?

In the aftermath of Jane’s outburst at Amanda, she attempts to backtrack. But it’s too late.

Cara reveals to Remi that she’s been accepted into the police academy. Remi, unsure with how she’s feeling, musters up a congratulations but Cara knows she’s not fully onboard. Remi resists Cara’s attempts to talk, and her buried feelings turn to a lack of support for Cara’s new training program. Remi, conflicted with how she’s feeling and not understanding it, confides in Taye… Why is this so hard for her?

Toadie returns home to an emotional Nell, relieved to have her dad back. Toadie offers hope of getting Nell off, and encourages her to move forward, including going back to school. Nell, still fragile, is hesitant to return and, it turns out, for good reason.
