On this Day 1961: Noele Gordon arrives for Lunch Box on a camel

OTD, May 2nd 1961

ATV Midland News footage shows Noele Gordon arriving at the Alpha Studios at Aston in Birmingham on a camel for a long wiped episode of daytime magazine show Lunch Box.

The camel was from Dudley Zoo and the stunt was created by producer Reg Watson (Neighbours, Crossroads, Prisoner: Cell Block H) to give the impression she’d travelled all the way back to the studios on the camel after a holiday in Bahrain.
