Sheffield DocFest announces new additions to its 32nd edition…
The latest productions joining the line up include the World Premieres of Live Aid at 40 – When Rock’N’Roll Took on the World and Trade Secret, a gripping expose of the polar bear fur trade.
Organisers have also announced new panelists and speakers, including activist, writer and model, Munroe Bergdorf, who will join The Changemakers with Alice Aedy, and three new events: BBC Studios Presents: Human – The Untold Story of Our Human Origins with Ella Al-Shamahi and Baff Akoto’s Collateral Echoes – Live Performance and Lived Experience Panel.
For the Industry Programme, the festival will welcome Juma Xipaia, Brazilian activist, leader of the Xipaya people, the first woman to serve as chief of the Middle Xingu region and producer of this year’s International Premiere, YANUNI, who will be taking part in the Indigenous Participation Panel.

Taking place 18-23 June 2025, key venues are The Crucible Theatre, Showroom Cinema, Workstation, Curzon Sheffield, The Light, Channing Hall, Site Gallery, Site Studio, Montgomery Theatre and Cutlers’ Hall.
