A Showbiz Newswrap Special looking at the soap suds winners…
Following the annual gong show, taking place earlier this evening, ITV have unleashed the winners of The British Soap Awards 2025. This year the awards took place at the Hackney Empire in London and were hosted by the incomparable Jane McDonald.
The British Soap Awards airs this Thursday at 8pm on ITV1, STV, STV Player and ITVX and celebrates the nation’s biggest and most-loved soap operas.
It was a big night for EastEnders in its 40th year, which while may have the lowest viewing figures, does have the best quality in plot, storytelling and visual performance of all the UK sagas, this reflected in the EIGHT gongs won…
Hollyoaks also proved it can still provide the drama despite being relegated to E4 and streaming. It picked up three awards, Emmerdale took two and the much maligned Coronation Street – nicknamed CSI Weatherfield by fans these days – managed one, although it is more an accolade than an actual award.
