Pick of the Plots: Monday, 16th June
A new week begins as POTP takes a look at the storylines from the UK and Australian soaps….
Jean is furious about the press coverage of Kat, Alfie and Harvey’s wedding business as it suggests Kathy is ‘Mrs Monroe’. Alfie tries to appease her but is distracted by his phone. When Harvey also dismisses her, Jean takes action to sabotage the limo business until Alfie arrives to talk her down. He promises to be there for Jean as she tries to recover from the breakup with Harvey. Later, Alfie finds himself with another problem to contend with when Stacey calls him.
On the tube home, Joel asks Tommy to film him, but he has no idea of Joel’s intentions. Tommy is horrified when he witnesses Joel pretending to fall on fellow passenger, Isla, who he touches inappropriately. Both Isla and Tommy are horrified, and when they arrive at the station, Isla reports Joel who is apprehended. Ross and Vicki are alarmed to see Joel being stopped.
Also, is something stirring in Albert Square – this episode won’t be on the iPlayer as usual until the BBC One broadcast airs meaning something secret is to be revealed.

Brody attempts to wind up Daniel and spills his drink over his work. Lisa threatens to arrest him for harassment. Carla calls in and is shocked to find Lisa putting Brody in handcuffs. At the station, Brody empties his pockets containing a bottle of white pills but refuses to tell Lisa what they are. When Brody’s alone in his cell, he shouts out to Lisa that he needs his meds but as Lisa heads off, he suffers an epileptic fit.
Meanwhile, Sally shares her concerns about Lou’s kids with Tim and reckons they should speak to social services, but will Tim agree? Sally tells Tim that looking after Lou’s girls has made her more sure than ever that they’d make great foster parents.
Maria returns from the police station and tells Gary she’s been released pending further investigations. Maria rails at Lou for reporting her to the police but Lou denies it. Who reported Maria? Lou calls to see Gary and assures him that she doesn’t want any trouble. Gary thanks her and offers her a beer.
Elsewhere, Todd is on a mission to get drunk and drown his sorrows after seeing Theo’s family picture. When joined by Billy and Sean, Todd retaliates by taking a selfie of the three of them and posting it on his socials. When Sean checks the dating app on his phone, he’s shocked when a picture of Theo pops up. How will Todd react? Theo manages to talk Todd round, realising who could be behind trying to split them up.
Also, when James explains to Dee-Dee how Laila kept him up most of the night, she offers to take over so he can get some rest. When minding Laila, Dee-Dee can’t help but smile at her baby daughter. Daniel suggests to Dee-Dee that she should talk to Amy about doing a slot on student radio about black women’s maternity experiences.

Bear Wolf stands next to the old motorbike he’s fixing – but is this project revving up a secret fury? Bear Wolf is over the moon when Cain agrees to let him tinker with a vintage motorbike at the village garage. But as soon as Paddy and Mandy leave him to it, Bear explodes in a shocking rage at the bike – an outburst that no one else witnesses. The usually jolly wrestler is clearly struggling with something beneath the surface. What is Bear hiding?
Victoria delivers troubling news to a shaken Aaron Dingle about Robert’s condition behind bars.
Aaron confesses to Victoria that he just can’t face visiting his husband Robert in prison after all. Understanding his torment, Victoria agrees to go see Robert on her own. But when she returns, Victoria reveals that Robert is in a terrible state behind bars – news that leaves Aaron awash with guilt and anguish. He’s devastated to hear how badly Robert is coping without him. Could this be the end for Robert and Aaron – forever?

Darren plans a memorial for Freddie and Clare pays Robbie a visit at the hospital, giving him a chilling ultimatum: kill Grace, or she’ll kill him. Vicky interrupts and later begs Robbie to run away with her, revealing a stash of money. Dillon is excited to move in with Ste and Lucas. Sienna seeks forgiveness from Cleo. Cleo has doubts.
Robbie is discharged but before him and Vicky can run away they are reminded of Freddie’s memorial. Emotions run high as Darren shares that the police have ended their search. Grace arrives uninvited, reigniting tensions with Mercedes. Robbie’s PTSD resurfaces but Vicky pulls him back together and they get away. With Vicky’s back turned, Robbie sends Clare a message agreeing to her plan.
As Grace prepares a birthday surprise for Clare, hoping to reconnect, Clare readies a shocking gift of her own… Tony receives a message that Ro’s sentencing has been brought forward to tomorrow.
At The Loft, Clare gives Robbie a gun and keys to Grace’s flat. With Sienna and Cleo deep in chat, Tori runs off when she sees Clare. Sienna is horrified when she realises her granddaughter has wandered off.
Lucas is thrilled to find Dillon waiting at home. Later, with things feeling weird between them Dillon asks Lucas if they can be boyfriends again. Grace walks into the flat and finds Robbie armed and ready, but has he underestimated her…

Lydia reflects on the chaotic aftermath of Lenny’s fall. Amber encourages her mother not to dwell on the past, but the vivid flashbacks prove hard to ignore. Blaming herself for not stopping Lenny, Lydia relives the moment emergency services attended to her unresponsive husband.
Meanwhile, Lenny wakes up in a mental health facility. As he prepares for his first family visit, Dr Albert reminds Lenny he can back out if it becomes too much. Although the visit starts off well, memories of his psychotic episode are triggered, and Lenny quickly becomes overwhelmed. Dr Albert later reassures Lydia, Amber and Alex that setbacks are normal during the recovery process. Regardless, Lydia is left feeling helpless.
Elsewhere, Conor’s stunned to discover Chloe’s gone back to Hong Kong without telling him. Sam offers wise counsel but Conor’s heartbroken. With everyone asking after Chloe’s welfare, Conor feels invisible and tells Tommy he’s struggling to handle the grief on his own. Later, matters come to a head at the Tall Ship when an inebriated Conor spots Sonny outside and sees red.
Concerned her daughter is up to no good, Gillian worries about the company Emma’s keeping these days. Douglas urges her not to interfere but Gillian admits Emma was a wild teenager and she is concerned history is repeating itself. Little does she know Emma in a secret relationship with a well-known gangster.

Mali’s still feeling wounded by the article about the board shop and neither Abigail nor Mackenzie can get through to him. He won’t even accept Abigail’s help, especially since she failed to side with him in the first place. Amidst ongoing tension between him and Abigail, Mackenzie calls him out for having a ‘bruised ego’. After stewing on this confrontation for a while, Mali finally texts Abigail and they reconcile.
Roo’s still not ready to make the call to the department, despite Eliza’s behaviour growing darker and darker with every day that passes. Meanwhile, Eliza’s cooped up in her room watching the video she took of Harper giving birth. She opens up her music box and inside is Alf’s bottle of pills, along with a printed photo of Harper mid-labour. Roo finds Harper and Tane and sits them down at Salt, keen for Harper’s insight on Eliza’s failure to help Alf when he needed his medicine.
Tane brings up the video Eliza took, but Harper doesn’t understand what he’s talking about. Eliza said her phone was dead, which is why she used Harper’s to call an ambulance. Cogs turn for Tane, as he asks to see Harper’s call log, which confirms his suspicions – Eliza never made the call. The thought of being made to go through labour alone, cut off from help by Eliza, makes Harper finally see that this girl is far more dangerous than she originally thought.
Under John’s somewhat sloppy supervision, Eliza waits for him to turn his back, sneaking off the moment the opportunity arises. She makes her way to the coffee cart after she can’t find Harper, her intensity affecting Marilyn. When news reaches Roo about Eliza taking off, panic is set into motion, and she races home. Eliza’s not in her room. Roo retrieves the music box and discovers the new items, including a photo of Harper in labour. But worst of all, Alf’s missing medication. Will this be enough to push Roo over the line?
Roo sits Eliza down, her items on the table on display. She asks why Eliza had the pills. Was she willing to watch Alf die? Eliza’s responds with the chilling truth, that perhaps she was. Roo’s heart breaks at the thought of losing her own dad, and while Eliza just stood there and watched? Roo asks if the stories about all the other items were even true, and Eliza emotionlessly tells her that all of it was a lie.

Andrew is left reeling after Wendy admits she found his biological family. While she struggles to explain why she went looking without his knowledge, he struggles with feeling betrayed and with the information that his birth mother is dead, and his birth father is not a good person. Unable to get his head around it, he rejects Wendy’s plea to talk. These two couldn’t be further apart if they tried.
Colton invites Aaron to join him for a yoga class as a way to de-stress. Aaron’s keen, unaware Cara’s encouraged Rhett to join the class. He and Colton begin a battle of wills, peacocking in front of Aaron, trying to show him who is the better man to date. Aaron is uncomfortable and confronted by their behaviour and makes a run for it home. When he downloads to Remi and Cara they both make their opinions known – Remi is team Colton and Cara is team Rhett. But an entering Nicolette offers what she believes to be the most logical advice – date them both! What will Aaron do?
Taye’s had enough of his escorting life crossing over into his Piano Bar life, and he’s made the decision to hang up his boots and retire. But when he breaks the news to his longest running client – Lydia – she doesn’t want to accept his decision and offers him more money. Standing firm, Taye won’t be swayed. But when he joins Cara, Remi and Cara’s boss for lunch, he’s in for quite a surprise when he discovers it’s none other than Lydia.
While she also had no idea of their connection, she uses it to her advantage and hits Taye with an ultimatum; keep seeing her, or she will make Cara’s work life very difficult…
