Pierre Moullier joins the cast of EastEnders to play Oscar Branning

Oscar Branning is returning to Walford this summer.

Newcomer Pierre Moullier will take on the role of 17-year-old Oscar, who’s about to turn his sister Lauren’s (Jacqueline Jossa) life upside down.

Pierre Moullier said:

“It’s pretty surreal to join EastEnders – it keeps hitting me that I’m actually on Albert Square! When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting as they are such an iconic family, and I love that there are so many skeletons in the closet. Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he’s a complex guy!”

The last time viewers saw Oscar was back in 2017 when he made a quick Fathers Day visit to Max (Jake Wood). Now, he’s back in Walford, and wherever Oscar goes, trouble is not far behind. Just why Oscar is returning and where he has been is set to be revealed when Lauren receives a mysterious call.

Oscar, the son of Max and Tanya (Jo Joyner), was born on screen in December 2007 and was part of the show until June 2013 when Tanya left for Exeter. He made a few brief appearances after that, with the last one being in June 2017.

EastEnders Executive Producer Ben Wadey said:

“I’m very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford and introduce viewers to him now that he’s all grown up. Oscar is very much a Branning which means there’s going to be plenty of drama in store this summer. We’re delighted to welcome Pierre as he takes on the role and can’t wait for viewers to see him bring Oscar to life.”

Pierre has already started filming, and Oscar will return on screen next month.

EastEnders, BBC One, Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm. Also available on the iPlayer.
