Emma Thynn Marchioness of Bath runs Lewa Safari Marathon

Lewa Safari Marathon raises awareness of the threats facing African wildlife…

Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, sported her running attire as she arrived to participate in the 25th annual Lewa Safari Marathon at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in northern Kenya today.

Emma shared the 10K course with 1,400 runners, as well as the conservancy’s wildlife, including elephants, lions and black rhino, in one of the most breathtaking and challenging landscapes. Known as one of the toughest races in the world, Emma ran at an altitude of 5,500, yet looked unfazed by the challenge, smiling throughout the race and waving at her supporters.

Emma has been getting to know the local community during her visit to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, looking glamorous in her safari-chic outfits against the park’s stunning landscapes.

The Lewa Safari Marathon connects people with nature through the power of running, and is organised by Tusk, a charity for which Emma has been a longstanding ambassador. Longleat has also supported Tusk for decades, by raising hundreds of thousands of pounds to fund a range of wildlife conservation projects in Africa. This time it was Emma spearheading fundraising through her mighty challenge.

The Lewa Safari Marathon plays a huge role in helping local communities and raising awareness of the threats facing Africa’s incredible wildlife. For further information please visit www.lewasafarimarathon.com and for further information on Tusk please visit tusk.org
