Pick of the Plots: Monday May 8th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Eva’s loved up after a great night with Aidan but it isn’t long before he slips away for a passionate clinch with Maria in the ginnel. David clocks them and is suspicious. Later, Maria tries to get Eva to dislike her in order to lessen her guilt over the affair. 

Sally is shocked when Gina approaches telling her how sorry she is. Leah quickly intercepts and bundles Gina into her car before she can say any more. Later, Sally discovers Gina has moved from the address where she previously lived. 

Elsewhere, Steve sets off to find Amy as the police move in on Ken’s attacker; Michelle’s short with Robert who’s unaware that Ruairi’s due date is approaching; and Rana suggests to Zeedan they start up their own business selling street food.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

As Jack reels from Charlie’s return, Dot and Charlie catch up on everything that has happened. But why is Charlie really back and are his intentions all as they seem?

Kim invites a relieved Denise over for dinner as Patrick is due home. However, Kim soon has reason to confront her sister when she hears there has been an upset in Denise and Kush’s relationship. As the Fox sisters butt heads, Denise reveals she’s split from Kush. 

Elsewhere, Bex defends Travis who also protests his innocence to Louise, however Alex and Mads continue to stir the pot; Lauren starts her new job; Woody organises a birthday party for Ollie.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Adam has admitted his criminal record at the adoption day and is on edge as a result. He ends up snapping at Vanessa. Moira picks up on his mood and he admits the truth to her about Vanessa when she confronts him. Moira tells him he has two choices – either put it behind him or ‘fess up to Victoria – but which will he choose? 

With Josh and Jamie released pending investigation it’s not long before they are back and running riot in the village and this time they have knives, threatening villagers with fear and intimidation. Pollard wants to take matters into his own hands whilst Dan has other plans. 

Elsewhere, Samson orchestrates a plan to match-make Lydia and Sam but will it work?

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Adam is mortified to realise that the stripper on his stag do is none other than Darcy! He tries to remove himself from the situation but Darcy catches up with him and makes her move, leaving him questioning whether his impending nuptials are really what he wants. Meanwhile, Maxine is overwhelmed when Neeta and Nancy surprise her with a new wedding dress.

Grace and Esther sleep together once more but Esther still doesn’t want to be with Grace. Darren and Grace are back in business when he asks her to help him sell Kyle’s weed.

Elsewhere, Simone is floored when Cindy announces that she’s also running for councillor; Hunter pales when Prince finds a folder of sexy pictures that he’s drawn of Neeta.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Mrs Tembe tries to bolster JJ, who has had no joy finding work. With his job search stagnating, he tries to make himself useful, and sets to Mrs Tembe’s garden; but when she arrives home, she’s horrified to find he’s uprooted her dormant plants! But instead of getting angry, she’s surprisingly supportive – his heart was in the right place. Mrs Tembe suggests that JJ move in with her, until he finds his feet again. Will he accept?

When Ayesha finds Valerie looking at pictures of attractive men online it soon becomes clear she’s looking for a sperm donor. Ayesha points out that ordering sperm from the USA is not only expensive but illegal in the UK. She jokingly suggests Valerie should look closer to home only for Valerie to seize on the idea and draws up a list of candidates – from amongst The Mill staff! When Ayesha points out the flaws here too, Valerie goes to Jimmi for advice but he shuts down the idea. Valerie returns to Ayesha with her choice made…

Elsewhere, a woman with a rare condition mounts a lonely protest to be given treatment that’s legal but not funded in the UK – will she get the treatment she desperately needs?
