Trisha Goddard latest to get a CBB eviction

The former talk show host is the latest booted out of the house…

Goddard, who hosted her own daily series for ITV daytime and Channel 5, has become the second contestant to be dispatched from Celebrity Big Brother after the public voted saw her the favourite to leave with Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd and EastEnders regular Patsy Palmer also nominated by the fellow housemates to face the public vote.

Speaking before entering the CBB environment Trisha noted, “I can’t say how I’ll get on with [the fellow housemates] – I have no idea. And what’s likely to annoy me? I’m intolerant of intolerance” adding “I hope I’m an easy housemate to get on with. My strengths are my sense of humour and not sweating the small stuff.”

While Jack was also nominated, he has emerged as the surprise public favourite in the latest Celebrity Big Brother sentiment rankings, with exclusive data from William Hill Vegas showing he’s resonating more with viewers than any other housemate.

Social listening analysis conducted via Brandwatch found that a staggering 50% of all online mentions about Shepherd were positive – more than three times the sentiment score of his nearest rivals, Donna Preston and Angellica Bell, who each trailed on 14%. Despite his popularity, Shepherd is still a 12/1 outsider in the outright betting, behind frontrunners like Chris Hughes (6/4) and Danny Beard (5/2).

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps:

“Jack P. Shepherd may not have had the same screen time or headline-grabbing moments as some of the other contestants, but the public have clearly connected with him in a big way. He’s sitting comfortably at the top of our sentiment table, with half of all social media mentions about him being positive – that’s a huge lead over the rest of the house.

“While Chris Hughes and Danny Beard are leading the betting at 6/4 and 5/2 respectively, Jack’s quietly growing support could see him become a serious contender. He’s the public’s champion right now, and with odds at 12/1, there’s still value for punters who believe he can ride that wave all the way to the final.”

This series has already seen two personalities depart, with former MP Michael Fabricant voted out last Friday, and American performer Mickey Rourke being asked to leave due to his behaviour.
