Pick of the Plots: Monday, May 5th
Bank Holiday storylines from the UK and Australian soaps….
It’s the day of Lauren and Peter’s engagement party. Lauren is frustrated when Peter leaves a check up with the midwife to take a call.
Kathy moves the engagement party to Harry’s Barn following a fault with The Albert, and Gina enlists Mo, Jean and Nigel to help but it’s clear they are not up to the job.
At the party, Lauren continues to worry and takes solace in the office following an ill-judged remark from Ian. Kathy comes to the rescue and Lauren re-joins the party, but her happiness is short-lived when Cindy arrives.
Meanwhile, a hungover Harry wakes at the Arches following his discovery of the truth about Shireen. An incensed Teddy orders Nicola to leave Walford. Billy finds Harry and takes him to Walford East, but things soon turn sour when Teddy arrives.
Later in the café, Billy attempts to reconcile with his nephew and persuades Harry to return home, but Harry is stopped in his tracks by Penny who reveals a secret about Shireen. At No.1, Nicola attempts to reason with Teddy in an attempt to stay in Walford, but just as Teddy is about to relent, Harry arrives and reveals what Penny has told him.
Elsewhere, Ross is troubled by Joel’s obsession with his phone. Vicki attempts to defuse the situation, but Ross makes it clear he doesn’t need help parenting and she leaves.
Later, Vicki and Ross are shocked when they return home to find Joel and Avani have slept together.
Also, Vicki attempts to convince Zack to keep out of the Mitchells’ drama, but he ignores her advice and issues Nicola with a threat.

Julie videos herself on her phone, talking about the importance of love. George plans a romantic evening to show Eileen how much he cares but Eileen’s furious and reminds him that he was supposed to be taking her and Julie for a day out at the lake.
Having got a cab, Eileen and Julie take in the view, Julie admits there’s nowhere she’d rather be.
At No.11, George stumbles across a video where Julie advises Eileen to call time on her relationship with George. At Julie’s request, Eileen heads to the refreshment van. Eileen returns to find Julie lying on her back with her eyes closed. In a panic, Eileen feels for a pulse.
Meanwhile, Todd tells Eileen and Julie he’s had a call from Danielle as Theo has gone missing. As a drunken Theo staggers down the street, Mick picks an argument with him and shoves him up against the wall. Billy watches, horrified. Ronnie hauls Mick away from Theo and sends him packing, while Theo breaks down to a concerned Billy.
Elsewhere, when Dee-Dee admits to Eileen that she’s nervous of becoming too attached to Laila, Eileen advises her to follow her heart. Ronnie spots Dee-Dee cooing over Laila and is touched by the sight. Dee-Dee admits to Alya that she’s started to bond with Laila.
Also, Rita orders Jenny to stop wallowing in self pity and look to the future while she’s still got her health.

Dawn and Joe share a secret kiss, but Clemmie sees the whole thing.
When Clemmie refuses to go back to school, feigning illness, Dawn is oblivious to what the real problem is.
Meanwhile, Ross is devastated when Steph calls off their relationship in order to spare his feelings and focus on her own recovery.

Levi and Mackenzie prepare to depart for their holiday to Queensland. They’re surprising Dean with a visit. Mali share’s Mackenzie’s hesitation – is it really a good idea for those guys to meet? Mali is ready to serve up a home-cooked meal as a surprise for Abigail, but she’s caught working late and can’t even answer his calls. There’s a niggle of tension and she admits that it’s a bit awkward, considering that they just agreed to give each other space.
Roo chases after Eliza as she vehemently opposes the idea of going back to the youth program. Eliza’s offered two options: continue the youth program or go to school. She’s got to socialise with people her own age. She decides to continue the youth program. Mali watches as Tane puts in extra effort to connect with Eliza, and later admits to Abigail that he suspects she needs professional help.
Abigail gets defensive, worried that Mali sees Eliza as a screw up because she messed up one time. Roo’s blindly proud of Eliza for going back to the youth program, and gifts her a phone. Elize bonds with Scott (the boy she hit) in the program, but when he takes her new phone to try and put his number in it, she suddenly becomes furious and defensive. Eliza smashes the nearest sauce bottle, waving the broken glass terrifyingly close to Scott’s neck as she demands he give her back the phone.
Mackenzie and Levi arrive to North Queensland, taking in the stunning views from the sky during a helicopter ride. Their helicopter lands. Unfortunately, there’s no delaying Levi, who’s determined to meet Mackenzie’s brother as soon as possible. They drop in, catching Ziggy and Dean by complete surprise. Dean runs downstairs to welcome Mackenzie in a tight embrace. But his introduction with Levi is ice cold.
After an even more awkward introduction to Dean’s mum and a rejected gift to Izzy, things are not looking so great for Levi. The couple are pelted by rapid fire questions and judgement from the overprotective family members. Unable to break through, a disheartened Mackenzie and Levi take off to enjoy the rest of their holiday. But is Levi really ready to give up on this?

When Karl and Susan cast suspicious eyes on Darcy’s deepening bond with Amanda, Darcy snaps—his defenses sky-high, demanding to know why they can’t cut him some slack, just like Dee supposedly did. Elsewhere, tensions simmer as Andrew and Aaron lock horns over how to best ready Cara for the Police Academy. But at home, Wendy battles a storm of her own. Frustrated by Andrew’s stubborn refusal to consider relocating to Murrayville for her career, Wendy’s had enough. After a stirring pep talk from Nicolette, she makes a bold move—secretly combing through Andrew’s computer and uncovering a job opening in Murrayville’s police force. She makes the call… pretending it’s for him.
Nell, shattered by a cruel prank and still reeling from the weight of Sebastian’s death, vows to study remotely, disappearing from school life. But Toadie, deeply concerned, turns to Holly for help. At school, Holly finds Nell and reaches out—not with judgment, but kindness. Her words land. Strengthened by their chat, Nell steels herself, lifts her chin, and walks back through the school gates.
As Toadie and Terese circle the wagons to support Nell, Paul finds himself standing outside the firelight—and Chelsea notices. With subtle manipulations, she deepens the divide. Then, crisis strikes: Thomas falls ill and is rushed to hospital. The emergency binds Paul and Chelsea as a makeshift family, while Terese, watching from the wings, begins to feel like a stranger in her own life.
