Following her death aged 65 on April 14th, a memorial service was arranged to be held at Birmingham Cathedral to celebrate the life and work of television pioneer Noele Gordon.
1000s of fans and friends filled the cathedral and streets surrounding it. Those in attendance included the cast of Crossroads, which she was the lead star of from 1964 to 1981 and showbiz pals such as Shaw Taylor, Su Pollard, Nicolas Parsons, Larry Grayson, Bob Monkhouse and Terry Wogan.
A reading was sent from former Coronation Street star, and later friend of Noele’s, Pat Phoenix.
