ITV1 Enjoys Ratings Surge with ‘Code of Silence’ Launch and BGT Semi-Final…
ITV recorded its strongest Sunday night of the year following the debut of its new crime drama Code of Silence, alongside the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent.
The opening episode of Code of Silence, which stars Rose Ayling-Ellis in the lead role, attracted a consolidated audience of 6.1 million viewers, according to figures released this week. The drama has been widely praised for its tense storytelling and representation, with some critics calling it a “thriller of the year” and highlighting its importance as a milestone in on-screen inclusion.

The broadcaster also enjoyed a solid performance from Britain’s Got Talent, which drew a consolidated audience of 4.3 million for its semi-final episode. The long-running talent competition continues to average around 6 million viewers per episode.
The combined success of both programmes delivered ITV its highest-rated Sunday of 2025 so far, a welcome boost in a competitive primetime slot.
