Pick of the Plots: Friday January 13th

SoapWorld takes a look at the goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Friday in our Pick of the Plots.

A devastated Steve and Michelle tonight say their last farewell to Ruairi. Steve confides in Liz that he is starting to blame himself for the death of his baby, as he reckons it’s punishment for his behaviour. Later in the second episode of the evening Michelle breaks down as the midwife takes her baby away. As Steve, Michelle and Liz arrive back from the hospital, Leanne’s awash with guilt, knowing she’s carrying a healthy baby – and more so that its also Steve’s.

Back in the first episode down at Websters’ Garage Kevin and Tyrone continue to bicker while Fiz is left in despair by the pair of them. Meanwhile Phelan counts his cash and, telling Andy it would be shame if anything awful were to happen to Steph. At Fiz and Anna’s insistence, Kevin and Tyrone bury the hatchet over a beer but Kevin’s perplexed when he gets a call enquiring if he’s happy with his new truck. Is Andy about to be rumbled?

In the second visit to Weatherfield  things are getting hot for Phelan as having reported the new truck as stolen, angry Kevin tells Tyrone, Luke and Freddie that someone accessed his email and rearranged the delivery. In a bid to prove their innocence, Freddie, Luke and Tyrone install a high tech CCTV system at the garage, complete with sound and linked direct to Kevin’s laptop. As Phelan heads to the garage to collect his van, Todd approaches and warns him to stop flashing his cash around or people will realise he was behind the building scam and how he ripped them off.

Tonight down in the east end of London Denise heads off to hospital, accompanied by Patrick, to be induced but as she goes into labour, she gets more than she could have ever expected when Kim arrives. Overwhelmed, Denise asks Kim and Patrick to be with her during the birth but will Denise tell Kim the truth about the adoption and will she go through with it?

Bex is left torn by her future and debates going off to college or staying at sixth form to do A-Levels. Bex later reveals she still has feelings for Shakil.

Whitney is determined to celebrate Mick’s upcoming birthday but after Whitney and Lee give him a touching present, Mick secretly tells Lee to return it as they need the money. As the night comes to an end, Babe bitterly confronts Whitney and tells her she’s no good for Lee; she’s ruined his life.

Over in the most famous of Yorkshire villages Rhona reminds Pierce that this evening its hunk night. When Pierce keeps calling her, Vanessa confiscates Rhona’s phone. Pierce is clearly frustrated she hasn’t picked up but Rhona is too busy having a good time.

Hunk night is soon well into the swing of things and an embarrassed Rhona ends up being called up onto the stage as everyone cheers her on. Outside, Pierce is skulking and on hearing Rhona’s name being chanted decides to head inside to see whats going on. His curiosity leaves him speechless as he witnesses Rhona dancing with one of the sexy hunks. Unhappy Pierce heads away with his insecurities gnawing at him, he’s far from a happy bunny about the situation.

Also tonight Rebecca uses Ross to take her mind off things when Chrissie stands her up. Chrissie later ends up fuming when she walks in on them. Can Chrissie and Rebecca continue to be friends or has this incident caused another rift with their battle lines being redrawn?

For those of you who don’t like a first look on E4 here’s the latest from Hollyoaks, which will air tonight on Channel 4. Leah never wants to see Ste again, but Ste can’t remember what he did. Harry is jealous when Ste relies on John Paul for advice.

Mercedes feels sorry for Scott when he tells her he just wanted to walk in James’ shoes for a while. She decides to help Scott spend James’ money. Grace can’t forgive Liam for what Eva did. When Esther wakes up, everyone is concerned that she can’t remember what happened.

Lisa wants Nathan to choose between her and Cleo. Later, someone burgles The Dog and Lisa and Mac are locked in the cellar. Mac comforts Lisa and they have sex. Nathan returns to The Dog and catches the masked intruder trying to get into the safe. They push past Nathan as they race out, but Nathan crashes against the bar, banging his head, and hits the floor. Cleo arrives and runs to Nathan. Lisa and Mac are filled with guilt when they’re released from the cellar. Meanwhile, the burglar, Liam meets Eva in The Folly – they’re planning to run away together.

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Doctors is off air for its annual winter break.

Doctors will return later in 2017 to weekdays at 1.45pm on BBC One.
