Pick of the Plots: Monday April 3rd

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Ken comes around in hospital and is shocked to learn he’s been attacked. With no memory of what happened, Ken takes exception when Mackinnon implies that a member of his family could be involved. However, as his family gather at his bedside, Ken eyes them suspiciously. When their visit descends into bickering Ken calls a nurse to request their removal. Later, Ken admits to the police that a member of his family being the culprit is a possibility.

Mackinnon calls at No.1 to question Adam about Ken’s account of their feud. Adam’s forced to admit he never left the country but confidently asserts that he was with his girlfriend Rosie on the night in question, before giving Rosie an incentive to back up his story. 

Elsewhere, Sinead gets drunk and badmouths Ken to Beth; Peter destroys Simon’s mobile phone – but why? Audrey breaks her arm when she trips in the salon; and Gary accuses Faye of making plans with Seb.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

The events of last week continue to affect various Albert Square residents.

Martin is still struggling to get his head around Michelle’s actions while elsewhere, Tina is upset.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Laurel is devastated when the doctor tells her and Doug to prepare for the worst. As she tries to come to terms with the situation, she wonders how she’s going to approach the matter with Gabby and Arthur.

Cain’s astounded to hear that Faith has stepped in to stand in for Debbie when she takes time off from work to look after Sarah. Moira suggests he should actually get to know his mother. But will Faith thank Moira for her interference?

Elsewhere, Pierce suggests that Carly should be Rhona’s maid of honour; Tracy is upset at the unfavourable reviews of her novel.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

No one knows what to believe when DS Armstrong provides an update on Amy’s death.

Armstrong interrupts Leela and Zak, stopping them from kissing – he’s been keeping tabs on Leela via a hidden camera. Later, Armstrong worms his way closer to Leela and they sleep together.

Adam is keen to keep away from Darcy but she offers to appease a staff shortage at the salon. Maxine is heartbroken to see them together and concedes that she’s lost Adam for good. However, she later hears Darcy on the phone telling someone that she loves them, but whom?

Elsewhere, Sally’s attempts to clear the air with Myra fall on deaf ears; Neeta suggests that Sally should try online dating.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Valerie’s still under caution not to gossip but she’s beginning to grate on Karen. Valerie doesn’t hold out for long snooping into a patient’s life, before confiding in Daniel after being assured to trust her instincts re confidentiality. Daniel reluctantly agrees to being Valerie’s sounding board.

JJ lures Mrs Tembe to a bike show-room; she is keen to avoid him making a rash purchase. However, she realises he just wanted to get her out of the office. When JJ arranges a test drive on a top-of-the-line motorbike, Mrs Tembe demurs – she doesn’t intend to buy anything so it would be a waste of time. Feeling he’s done wrong, JJ tries to make it up to her with lunch. But Mrs Tembe hurts his feelings when her behaviour changes upon seeing Zara. 

Elsewhere, a bride-to-be, Katie, learns she’s pregnant. She shares her joy on her vlog before even telling her family. But her online life doesn’t seem to match reality – just what is she hiding?

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
