Pick of the Plots: Friday June 8th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Alya announces she’s secured a huge order with MacNees but Carla rains on her parade – pointing out they don’t have the material. Adam advises Jenny and Carla that their only hope of keeping the factory is to claim that Aidan was of unsound mind.

When Carla goads Alya over her handling of the MacNees order, Alya storms out. Carla confides in Michelle that she blames herself for Aidan’s death. Meanwhile, Imran is stunned to learn that Aidan left the factory to Alya. How will Alya react when he tells her?

Elsewhere, Rosie appears on This Morning with Gemma and Craig, and later leaves the street after being offered a job in Japan; Kirk is horrified to realise Sharon has feelings for him.

Coronation Street, Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Carmel is upset with Ian’s plans for her campaign against knife crime as she fears they may stop people from coming forward. At the Community Centre, Carmel starts to buckle under pressure from questions about the knife surrender box.

Meanwhile, Jack goes to see Hunter to find out whether he stole the £15k but Mel is quick to jump to her son’s defence. After getting Mel out of the way, Jack has a chat with Hunter and leaves on what he thinks are good terms.

Elsewhere, Stacey and Martin are caught romping in his van by the police; Kim visits the police station about Vincent.

EastEnders, Friday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

It’s the day of Gerry’s funeral and Doug tells Terry he has left his money in his room. Terry backs out of giving his eulogy and bolts for the door, leaving it to Doug to deliver the eulogy. Diane is suspicious of Terry’s hasty exit.

Meanwhile, Lachlan confronts Terry as he is about to do a runner with the cash and other items.

Elsewhere, Megan accidentally gets locked in the toilet. Graham is soon on hand, but will he enjoy toying with the situation?

Emmerdale, Friday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Liberty is out for a run when a car pulls up and she is bundled into the passenger seat, as witnessed by Milo. Liberty’s ex boyfriend Kelvin demands back his stolen hard drive. Thanks to Milo, DS Roxy arrives to arrest him. Liberty reveals what’s on the hard drives.

Meanwhile, Cindy is being frozen out by The Nightingale’s but she wants to know how her son is. Marnie bites back and tells Cindy she is the reason Alfie is ill. Dr Foggarty refers Alfie to the psychiatric hospital in Chester.

Elsewhere, there’s tension between Ste and Harry who are struggling to make ends meet. Later, Harry presents Ste with a wad of cash he claims is from promotions work but is he telling the truth?

Hollyoaks, Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Jimmi at last signs away his partnership rights, and becomes just a humble GP again. He takes Al and Penny to the pub. As they get slowly more drunk, Jimmi starts to wonder about the future but tells them he feels absolutely marvellous.

Meanwhile, Tariq arrives for dinner – he’s all charm, and Ruhma warms to him, though Alia feels anxious. After dinner Ruhma calls Heston to say her mind has been put at ease but then she walks in on Tariq and Alia kissing. Once Tariq leaves, Ruhma tries to speak to Alia but she goes to her room.

Elsewhere, Daniel is keen to celebrate his and Zara becoming sole partners but Zara shares her doubts.  

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
