Former Liverpool and England international Stan Collymore is to Executive Produce and present a new football show, exclusive to television network RT.
“I’m delighted to be with RT for the Stan Collymore Show. RT gave me an opportunity to produce a series of shows that I feel football fans want you see. We’ll look not only at the beautiful game, but also Russia seen through my eyes, unfiltered, raw, and honest.” – Stan Collymore
Starting on Friday 3rd November, the sports broadcaster will travel the globe as part of the RT build-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, covering, and uncovering, some of the most remarkable, and unexpected, stories in the beautiful game. From Scandinavia to Malaysia via Latin America and the Middle East, the show will tackle a variety of issues, including racism, sexism and mental health, as well as the inspiring and lighter sides of the beautiful game.
Collymore uses his extensive knowledge and contacts to sit down with legends of the game, including the greatest player to grace the game, Pele, Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, and Ballon D’Or winner Michael Owen, whilst covering some of the most intriguing stories of the modern game, such as the Syrian national team’s run to the World Cup playoffs and Iceland’s incredible ascent to the top table of International football.
He rubs shoulders with Italian greats Andrea Pirlo and Fabio Cannavaro, and walks around Reykjavik to talk giant-killing with the Prime Minister of Iceland.
“There’s a whole world of inspiring, sad, and life affirming stories connected to the beautiful game, so I’m delighted to bring some of them to the show. I hope everyone will enjoy it.” – Stan Collymore
As well as being shown on RT UK, The Stan Collymore Show will go out on all of RT’s channels.
