As Carters prepare for their meeting with Grafton Hill, Fi assures the Chairman there’s no way they can raise the money requested. The Carters are horrified when their instalment plan is rejected and they are given five weeks to pay up. Shirley questions how much Fi knew but she assures them she had no idea this would happen.
As the Carters reel, Fi later returns with an offer – the Carters sell the leasehold and receive a large payoff but they only have today to decide. As Mick contemplates the idea, the Chairman and Fi arrive for his answer – what will he do?
Elsewhere, Phil is taken back by Ben’s ideas for the Arches; the past catches up with Abi.

Neeta is arrested after confessing her affair with a student to Sally and both she and Hunter are questioned by police. They say that nothing happened, but Myra makes Neeta feel guilty and she tells the truth.
Elsewhere, Mandy sabotages Luke’s new job (teaching PE at Hollyoaks High) but then relents; Luke hides a bottle of vodka at the school; Yasmine stands up to Peri and Lily.

Zara insists on attending Reece’s funeral but Rob and DI Tom Stanton nervous for her safety. Carlene makes a moving speech, calling for the younger generation there to stop this violence. She then thanks the doctor who tried to save Reece. Carlene doesn’t look in Zara’s direction but hooded lad ‘Drac’ leans forward, stating that he knows it is Zara.
After the funeral a different hooded lad spits on the coffin, causing Austin to attack him. Rob pulls them apart and the hoody scarpers. Zara leaves the crematorium and is confronted by Drac. At first he seems threatening but then he thanks Zara for helping Reece, he was his best mate. As Zara returns to her car she’s intimidated by a group of lads watching and laughing.
