Pick of the Plots: Monday January 29th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

Toyah feels guilty as Peter discusses starting work on the nursery. After learning from Shona that Eva has gone to the abortion clinic, Toyah follows her there saying she wants to support her. But Eva is shocked by what she says.

Nicola is suspicious when Phelan won’t talk about having a look round the mill site with Eileen. She tells Gary he should try and get a job there and later broaches the subject with Phelan. Meanwhile, after Faye tells Tim that she can’t bear seeing Phelan every day, Tim suggests they go away for a while.

Elsewhere, Kate agrees to a date with Sophie; Carla offers to help fund the building work on the factory while Roy implores Carla to be open with her family; and Shona tells David she is jealous of his relationship with Maria.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.

With the money from the job still nowhere to be seen, those involved remain uneasy and Aidan grows determined to find answers and turns his attention to Mick …

Meanwhile, after Mel agrees to let one of Jack’s flats, she sets off on her own mission to find out where the money is. Aidan later goes to visit Phil and is taken back to also find Mel there leading him to question Phil’s loyalties.

Elsewhere, Kim accuses Vincent of having an affair after he meets with an estate agent; Kathy reprimands Masood after he alters the chippy menu; Phil shares his concerns with Jay.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.

Rhona asks Pete out for a drink. Later after the date in the pub, they kiss passionately, with Rhona leading Pete upstairs. Meanwhile, Vanessa confesses to Paddy that Rhona is still in love with him but implores him to let her move on.

Brenda comes face-to-face with who she believes is Bob’s other woman, Fiona at a fake naughty nylons reunion. Brenda asks Fiona outright about sleeping with Bob. Fiona vehemently denies it but will this give Brenda any sort of closure?

Elsewhere, Vanessa is on eggshells around Charity.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

Damon and Brody are struggling in the aftermath of Maggie’s death, while Lily is concerned by Scott’s upbeat mood. Scott confides in Lily that he’s worried his depression will resurface, but she promises to support him.

Damon, Brody and Scott find a number and message on Maggie’s bucket list. They call the number and Damon’s dad, Buster answers and walks into The Dog.

Elsewhere, Grace and Trigger team up to get one over on Glenn but their plan backfires; Imran is still pissed off with Misbah; Dirk guesses that Cindy is lying about her and Milo.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Emma greets her first house guests at the door – an elderly Spanish couple. The lady curiously asks if Emma makes allowances for idiosyncrasies. Emma doesn’t have to wait long to find out what she means when the couple later emerge in the nuddy with a bottle of wine.

Emma laughs awkwardly and tries to make small talk, but when she mentions that she’s a doctor, the lady rather excitedly asks if she could check a sore on her husbands… Emma shuts the conversation down and announces she’s going out.

Elsewhere, Heston shadows on an FME shift; Karen gets an invitation from a lonely elderly neighbour, but will she be too late to the party?
