Mrs. Tembe calls a staff meeting to try and make everyone more aware of their carbon footprint. Mrs. Tembe is the only one who doesn’t travel by car, but Al just thinks this is an opportunity for Mrs. Tembe to be smug and stresses the insignificance of one person’s actions. Daniel is enthused, however, and encourages Mrs. Tembe’s plans.

Mrs. Tembe sends an email round asking everyone to find out how their patients travel to the practice, which only irritates Al even more. The debate becomes heated when Daniel suggests that Al doesn’t care about the future so much because he doesn’t have children.

Later, Mrs. Tembe has succeeded in creating a new bus stop outside of the mill. As she goes to tell Daniel the good news, she encourages Daniel to apologise to Al about his inconsiderate comments.

Doctors, Friday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
