Pick of the Plots: Monday June 18th

The latest goings on in EastEnders and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

An envelope containing a key arrives at Stacey’s, leaving the Slaters confused until they realise it’s for Charlie’s cab. Hayley is determined to get it up and running again, to exploit its money-making potential, and hatches a plan when Keanu tells her it could be worth 10k.

Hayley goes to The Arches to see if they have the tools she needs, but has to distract Keanu in the process to get them. Phil comes in to break up their flirty exchange and humiliates Hayley in the process. Hayley angrily steals the tools when no one is looking but later feels guilty.

Meanwhile Max and Rainie feel the pressure to obtain character references from friends to support their custody battle for baby Abi. Max helps Masood with Harley in the hope he will provide a reference but after consulting with his Aunty, Masood refuses. Max also gets short shrift from Karen and Carmel too.

Elsewhere, Mick is intrigued when Stuart asks for his help; Patrick realises that Ted never received the money he posted through the Murrays front door. Ted angrily confronts the Taylors, and Bernie realises Mitch is the culprit.

EastEnders, Monday at 9.25pm on BBC One.

SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Ollie is furious with Mandy and Luke for embarrassing him in front of the village with their argument. Mandy covers for Luke again at work whilst Diane still believes Tony and Mandy are having an affair. With Luke’s problems continuing to affect the business, the other partners mull over cutting him and Mandy loose but Luke turns up, begging for another chance.

Mandy finds him later and takes him home but when they return to Luke, they catch him about to drink a bottle of red wine. Luke lies it’s for Buster and although Ollie doesn’t believe him, he still takes it to give to Buster. Buster persuades Ollie to do some stretching but he closes the door and the next we see is a freaked-out Ollie rushing out.

Elsewhere, Maxine is feeling guilty about kissing Glenn; Nico hides a knitting needle up her sleeve; and Marnie is upset.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
