Pick of the Plots: Monday August 27th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

Johnny and Jenny are on edge over Henry suing them as their insurance hasn’t come through yet. While Henry seeks legal advice, Gemma begins to doubt his motives when Rita tells her that she caught Henry searching her flat. Forced to admit his injury is fake, Henry explains he’s being hounded for £20k to pay for his aborted wedding. Henry begs Gemma to go ahead with his plan but will she?

Meanwhile, Leanne starts work at Barlow Legal Services where Adam soon picks up on her and Imran’s flirting. When Imran’s mum tries to persuade him to join her on her six-week cruise, he asks Kate to suggest it to Rana instead, claiming they could build bridges. Kate flatly refuses, but Rana later decides to go after speaking to Alya about it.

Elsewhere, Simon receives a threatening message on his return from Cornwall; Audrey clashes with Rita over her being Maria’s financial backer; Cathy tries to persuade Brian to apply for a vacancy at Bessie Street School; Liz is put out by Johnny’s work rota and Peter informs Carla that he’s quit Street Cars to focus on the factory full-time.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

As Dennis and Phil head out for the day, Dennis panics when he spots the gang and rushes home. With Phil suspicious, Sharon asks Keanu to keep a lid on what happened. Keanu abides by Sharon’s wishes when probed by Phil, however Phil later gleans an interesting nugget of information from Karen who mended Dennis’s jacket.

Furious, Phil storms home with Keanu in tow and questions why he wasn’t told the truth. As Sharon admits she didn’t want him kicking off, Phil fires Keanu for getting involved. As the argument escalates, Keanu stands up for Sharon sending Phil into a rage

Elsewhere, when Stacey catches Jean with a babygrow Jean lies that it was meant for Kim but holes soon appear in her story. Kim agrees to back Jean and Hayley up, but Hayley’s pregnancy later becomes known to Stacey when she finds Jean adjusting her clothes.

Also, Honey admits to Billy that she went out on a date.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.

It’s all over for Misty and Rodney thanks to the interference of his daughters. Rodney is hell bent on finding out why she left without him.  Bernice is forced to come clean over the lies they told Misty (he was too sick to go with her) leaving Rodney incandescent with rage. There’s panic all round when Rodney then suddenly collapses. 

Meanwhile, Ryan is delighted when Charity introduces him to Moses but later, Charity confides in Vanessa her reservations over introducing Ryan fully to the family. 

Elsewhere, Aaron agrees to accompany Liv on a visit to her mum in Ireland; Vanessa & Tracy fear Pete’s playing away.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

Sami dresses as an airline pilot and asks Ellie to travel around the world with him. She is hesitant and asks James for advice, he tells her to do what makes her happy. She decides to go, and they throw a party to celebrate.

Meanwhile, Imran’s behaviour towards Misbah has improved, so she decides to stop taking her anti-anxiety medication. Yazz panics, as she knows the only reason he is calm is because of the pills she has been slipping him, so she snatches the prescription out of Misbah’s bag.

Elsewhere, Romeo and Prince are throwing another rave, this time with DJ Hype! Hunter is suspicious of Romeo’s behaviour towards Lily and is furious when he finds out that he tried to kiss her. Hunter’s delighted when Asha arrives but Romeo later kisses Asha on the stage in front of him.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
