Sarah’s intrigued when Peter heads out for a meeting with Nigel Steadman, a competitor of Underworld. Nigel is keen to buy Peter’s share of the factory but they are, thanks to Sarah, interrupted by Carla who has other ideas. Peter tells Carla that she has made him feel surplus to requirements but Carla assures him that they make a good team. Later, Carla tells Johnny that she still has feelings for Peter.
Meanwhile, Ali struggles to keep his emotions in check when Ronan’s mother Patti arrives wanting to find out more about her son’s final moments. Later, a drunk Ali tells Robert the truth about Ronan and reveals that he is going to hand himself in. Robert implores Ali not to but to return to his GP training where he will have the opportunity to save thousands of lives. Ali takes his words on board.
Elsewhere, Kate excitedly confides in Jenny that she intends to propose to Rana when she returns; Nick tries to convince Leanne that he’s a changed man; Tim thanks Gina for her help and pecks her on the cheek, she’s smitten; and Bethany visits Ryan in hospital.

Ollie has a pastoral care meeting, and Nancy sabotages it by sending Darren an email telling him it’s cancelled. Nancy later collapses whilst being confronted by Mandy. Darren supports Nancy at the hospital, but she admits to Charlie that she faked the MS attack.
Elsewhere, Brody tells Sienna she is better off without him; Cleo strikes a deal with Farrah to push her in Grace’s direction.

Feeling guilty for not picking up on her hearing difficulties, Heston pushes for Ruhma to see a private Audiologist. Ruhma is reluctant to show disloyalty to the NHS and receive special treatment but is eventually persuaded.
Meanwhile, Jimmi finds Al on the rear patio, savouring a cigarette and lost in thought – there’s clearly something on his mind but he’s not ready to talk. Later that morning Jimmi seeks him out – is it something serious? Jimmi laughs when Al opens up.
