A future plot in Corrie will see the death of Rana Habeeb, The Sun reports.
Bhavna Limbachia as Rana Habeeb
The tabloid has revealed that actress Bhavna Limbachia is leaving the soap in pursuit of further acting ventures and that bosses have decided to kill her character off.
It’s unknown in what circumstances Rana will breathe her last although it is thought that her untimely demise will occur on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).
“This will devastate fans of the show who have grown to love Kate and Rana, who they nicknamed Kana. This was very much Bhavna’s decision, she told Kate Oates last year she wanted to try other things, and sat down with Iain the minute he joined.” – Coronation Street source
Rana was initially a love interest for Zeedan Nazir. She broke his heart after falling for friend Kate.
Kate and Rana recently fell out over Kate’s passion to have a baby.
Rana was introduced to the cobbles in February 2016, coming into the show as a love interest for Zeedan Nazir (Qadim Akhtar), who she went on to marry before realising her heart lay elsewhere.
Despite the disapproval of Rana’s traditional parents, Rana and Kate got together and their relationship has since proven popular with fans of the ITV serial. The couple got engaged in the saga’s autumn 2018 plots, although the end of the year saw them at loggerheads over their differing views on having a baby together.
“Bhavna wanted Rana to be killed off as she didn’t like the idea of just splitting them up. Rana will die in Kate’s arms and the scenes will be heartbreaking to watch.” – the source added
