Chantelle has been referenced on-screen a couple of times since the Taylor family arrived in Walford in June 2017.
Last year, EastEnders confirmed that the character was to be introduced in 2019, but was unable to reveal who would be playing her at the time. The character was billed as ‘kind and bubbly’ but also as someone who is more than capable of sticking up for herself as one might expect from Karen’s daughter. The beeb further teased that whilst Karen and Mitch are delighted to see their daughter in Walford, it soon becomes clear there’s some friction between mum and daughter.
“The Taylor family are set to be complete when Chantelle arrives in Walford. She certainly has that feisty Taylor streak. Things are set to get a whole lot louder in Walford in 2019.” – Kate Oates, EastEnders’ Senior Executive Producer commenting in 2018
Neon Jungle – which also featured Shereen Cutkelvin, Amira McCarthy and Asami Zdrenka – had short-lived pop success between 2013-2015 after their 2012 formation at the hands of David Cooper. The group were signed to RCA Records UK and settled on the name Neon Jungle after their song “Welcome to the Jungle”, which was one of two top ten hits for the group. RCA dropped them in May 2015, with the band confirming their split two months later.
