Pick of the Plots: Tuesday June 25th

The latest goings on in EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Max struggles to get Mel off his mind and unaware it’s the day of Hunter’s sentencing, invites her for a drink. When Mel lets him down gently, Max suggests they go for a business drink instead leaving Mel pondering the idea. Later on, they go for a drink, but Mel sees Jack with the officer who arrested Hunter, Muski, and makes a sharp exit. Alone, Mel makes a suspicious call.

Meanwhile, Jack has a run-in with Fraser at the park. After Muski refuses to help, Jack takes matters into his own hands and follows Fraser. Ian is alarmed to see Bobby with a bruise on his face and assuming Max is responsible, he calls the police. Bobby refuses to cooperate with the police and Max denies any involvement. Bobby eventually reveals to his dad how he got the bruise. Ian is later horrified to discover that Max is his new business partner at the restaurant – Masood has gone.

Elsewhere as the Taylors prepare for Kandice’s baby’s christening, Gray charms Karen but he senses that Mitch is wary of him. Jay confides in Billy that he’s having doubts about Ruby and Billy predictably passes this information on to Lola. In need of a job, Lola tries her luck at the salon, and is surprised when Denise gives her a trial on the spot.

Also, Jean gets increasingly annoyed by Daniel (Ade Edmondson) during a chemo session.

Second episode

Jack and Fraser come to blows and the situation soon gets out of hand.

Meanwhile, Mel puts the final pieces of her plan to get her hands on Jack’s money in place and spins Rainie a lie to get into the Branning’s. Rainie lets her get on with it but Mel is annoyed to be interrupted by Tiffany. After swerving Tiffany’s questions, Mel is finally alone – will she go through with it?

Elsewhere, Ian berates Kathy for not telling him about Masood but after a reality check from Kathy, Ian realises he’s not been supportive of Bobby and arranges a family meal. Lola is left deflated when she witnesses Jay and Ruby making amends after a falling out. Ben is stunned when Lola insists that she is moving back to Newcastle.

Also, Stacey tells Daniel to leave her mum alone, however her interference isn’t welcomed by Jean. Despite Chantelle’s encouragement, Gray fails to win Mitch around.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm and 9pm on BBC One.

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

A big football match sees the villagers’ competitiveness put to the test, especially when Doug and Jimmy find out that the opposition manager is Chris Kamara. With Bear managing the village team, Paddy is eager to impress him.

Marlon, Jessie and April are in for a shock when they get back from the match to find a gun-brandishing Max in their home. Max orders a terrified Jessie to call Billy, which goes to voicemail.

Later, Billy darts inside and faces Max, who points the gun straight at him. There’s a furious tussle and before long a gunshot reverberates around the village, leaving someone fighting for their life.

Elsewhere Victoria confides in Amy.

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm and 8pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

Meanwhile, Sinead and Sienna are searching for Laurie when they hear Diane’s screams. They shout at Laurie to get off Diane, but it has no effect. Sinead finally stops Laurie by pushing him off the balcony of the school.
