Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 3rd July
The latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
Back from Carlisle, Carla packs Peter off to an AA meeting before going to see her staff at the community centre as she has something to tell them. Peter worries that Carla’s illness is causing her to make rash decisions.
Meanwhile, David is annoyed to hear about Nick’s bid to avoid prison and decides he’s going to play dirty himself. Shona is unimpressed with David’s behaviour and Toyah tells Imran not to believe everything David says.
Elsewhere, Geoff spoils Yasmeen and offers to speak to the insurance company on her behalf. When Yasmeen gets upset about the loss of a framed photo of Kal, Geoff replaces it with a huge picture on the wall. Later, Geoff tells Yasmeen that he’s got her a better deal with a new insurer and accidentally gave his bank details to the old one for her pay-out. She doesn’t object and he’s pleased to have taken control.
Also, Maria is astonished by the raunchy nature of the responses to her dating ad and fails to notice Ali’s interest in her. Sean blames Paul for his date going badly.

A troubled Jessie is informed that some human bones have been uncovered at the school.
Meanwhile, Jacob reaches out to Maya.

Mercedes admits that she is back on the drugs and a furious Sylver throws her out. Breda picks up on the tension and tries to find out what Mercedes has done.
Sylver talks to Breda about his murderous past; he feels disgusted in himself for taking another man’s life. Breda reassures him and through flashbacks we discover that it was actually her who killed Sylver’s stepdad. Sylver finally opens up to Breda about what Mercedes has done, and Mercedes is back on Breda’s kill list.
Meanwhile, Mercedes goes to The Loft and asks Liam for drugs but he talks her out of it, and tells her that she still has a chance at domestic bliss with Sylver. He comforts her and whilst she’s asleep, he whispers to her that he loves her.
Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
Doctors is off-air for its annual summer break.
