Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 7th August

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Eileen quizzes Jan who insists he’s been working in Birmingham, but something is niggling Eileen. An uneasy Eileen later arrives at the salon where she witnesses Jan, Nikolai and Rachel hastily loading all of the fixtures and fittings into a van. Jan gives some harsh truths to Eileen about who he is and their relationship. As things escalate, Eileen starts to fear she could be in danger but the police swoop in and arrest them all. Later, Eileen is released without charge and tells Abi that Jan was part of the trafficking ring. 

Meanwhile, Gary calls in the flower shop to retrieve his money which Mary denies all knowledge of while Ryan tells Alya he has sold some vinyl and can now afford to join her in Copenhagen. Ryan plays dumb when Gary confronts him about the missing money but he’s forced to come clean when Alya lets it slip that he has come into some money. Gary orders him to pay it back plus interest.

Elsewhere, Toyah decides to tell Claudia the truth about the bail hostel. Ken is disappointed when Claudia announces that she is moving into her flat after all. Emma agrees to look after Joseph instead of going to the hospital to visit her dad. Carla steps into the breach when Roy slips in the café injuring his back.

Diane desperately tries to get in touch with Sinead about Laurie’s escape, whilst Sinead is giving Sami the cold shoulder after yesterday. Sinead is hitchhiking a ride home when Laurie stops and offers her a lift lying to her that he is a free man. Sinead finally hears from Diane that Laurie is in fact an escaped convict. She flees with Laurie in pursuit.

Meanwhile, Juliet is angry at Brooke because of her refusal to buy alcoholic the previous day, so she steals her purse. Later, Brooke has a sensory overload whilst looking for her purse in the DJ tent.

Elsewhere, Tom is frustrated with Peri and Prince’s romance and tells Prince that he may be judged for it as Lily has only been gone a few months. Romeo tells him that he is allowed to move on, and Prince says that he needs to do something with his life. Prince tells Goldie that he is leaving.

Also, Mitchell comes to Scott’s aid when he is drag-bashed.
