Pick of the Plots: Monday 19th August

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Bethany is shocked when a family arrive for dinner at the Bistro and she recognises the dad from Nathan’s parties. Later, as the family leave the Bistro rowing over what has been said, Craig is knocked down by the angry wife as she puts her car in reverse. Bethany is devastated that once more Craig has been caught up in her past.

Meanwhile, Yasmeen is horrified that Geoff has installed security cameras all round the house for her safety. Geoff doesn’t take her objection well. He dismantles the cameras before leaving Yasmeen, claiming she is bad for his mental health. Geoff confides in Tim that Yasmeen is a nightmare to live with. As Tim heads off, Geoff takes out his laptop and watches Yasmeen – he has left one hidden camera running.

Elsewhere, Steve obtains a tuft of Emma’s hair and sends it off for DNA testing. Aggie suspects Ed of being up to his old tricks when her card is declined at the corner shop. Ed admits to Michael he’s in a financial hole that £5k would sort.

SoapWeek: EastEnders

Ben sets up a surprise party for Phil’s homecoming, but Phil is more concerned about the argument he overheard his son having with Jay in the hospital. Ben plays ignorant but Phil gets to Jay before he does – will Jay drop him in it? Later, Phil tells Shirley that he’s remembered something before startling Kat when he turns up in the Slater’s kitchen.

Meanwhile, Max and Ruby make plans but when Ruby leaves, Jack questions if she is expecting Abi to be there. Ruby is later less than impressed to learn Max has Abi. As Max returns Abi to Rainie, he spots Bobby sitting in the Square and offers some support.

Elsewhere, Mel receives a worrying call and turns to Gray for advice – Hunter is being moved to another prison. Also, Callum breaks the news to Stuart that he wants Mick as his best man.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Bear’s ego is bruised over his inability to read, as he asks Paddy to read aloud a letter from his mother. Paddy lies about the contents but then panics when he realises that Bear will soon be able to read it for himself.

Meanwhile, Harriet is glad when Will arrives back at the village. But Will’s happiness at reuniting with daughter Dawn is short lived, as Cain sacks him from the garage

Elsewhere, Moira struggles to resist temptation around Nate.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Liam plies Bobby with an ice cream and plays down what he saw yesterday. However, Bobby talks to Charlie about affairs and decides to tell Sylver what he saw.

Meanwhile, Goldie and Joel profess their love for one another despite Goldie telling Breda that she is done with him. Later, Goldie leaves a half-naked Joel asleep at her house. As Breda arrives, Joel hides in the kitchen, but she catches him. A furious Breda hits Joel over the head with the bible.

Breda and Jack agree to set a new date for the wedding. Later, Jack is fishing in the folly when he, to Goldie’s horror, pulls up a dead body…

Elsewhere, Sienna tells Damon that Maxine has been cured. Maxine, however, tells Damon that her tumour has actually grown.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
