Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 21st August

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Emma meets her brother Morgan to go to the funeral but is shocked to realise that he knew the truth about ‘their’ dad. Upset, she sends him away. Steve arrives at the church with a wreath and breaks the news to Emma that he has done a DNA test and he is her real dad. The news soon spreads with varying reactions while Emma skypes her mum.

Meanwhile, Aggie and Ed confront Michael after finding a positive pregnancy test. Michael insists it’s a business venture but Aggie throws him out, sick of his get rich quick schemes. Michael seeks out James to tell him they need to borrow £5k to get his dad out of trouble. Later, the first instalment transferred, Michael finds Ed on a gambling site. Ed knows he has to be honest with Aggie that he was to blame for them losing everything not Michael.

Elsewhere, Geoff tries to help Yasmeen with her online banking and drops into the conversation that he is going to the doctors as he has some health issues. Despite there being nothing wrong with him, he later tells Yasmeen he has been suffering heart palpitations and is pleased at her concern.

Also, Max lashes out at Nick over David’s imprisonment.

Moira is uneasy at having the house to herself.

Unable to resist, Moira gives into Nate’s temptations in another mad impulsive moment, and they sink into the hay of Butlers Barn. 

Meanwhile, Kim makes an offer to Jamie and Andrea.

Emmerdale, Wednesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

Lisa is still struggling to cope with the loss of her father as the Devereaux’s rally around her. Lisa isn’t happy to overhear Walter tell Martine that he doesn’t blame Simone for not coming home.

Meanwhile, Breda is unimpressed with Darren being a bad dad to Charlie and Oscar. Recent events have left her torn about her mission, so she looks to god for a sign, and is spurred on by a picture of Darren. Later, Jack has gathered everyone at The Dog to talk about the serial killer. Breda decides to say a few words.

Elsewhere, Damon tells Nancy and Grace that Maxine’s tumour has grown. He transfers funds from the crowd fund page in order to pay for the living funeral. Maxine gives Sienna tickets to a mini break, but Sienna finds out what’s going on before she goes. Maxine admits she can’t stop lying.

Also, Sylver offers to be Grace’s personal trainer. Mercedes tries to spend more time with Bobby but he disappears when Liam comes over to the pub.

Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
