Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 18th September
The latest goings on in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.
Chemo has taken it out of Sinead and whilst she sleeps, Beth bemoans to Daniel that Sinead is too sick and tired to be with Bertie. When Sinead wakes, she’s too weak to hold Bertie and Daniel suggests that she should stop having chemo. Sinead takes offence to this, but later concedes that Daniel might be right.
Meanwhile, James comforts Bethany who is upset for Daniel, however Bethany insists to Audrey that Daniel is just a friend. Later, Ed and Michael suggest that James asks Bethany out. Bethany agrees to a drink with James and Audrey’s surprised to see them together in the Rovers. Bethany agrees to join James at Ed’s surprise party.
Elsewhere, Paul is sick of Billy’s meddling. Billy seeks advice from David who advises him that he can’t force someone to confide when they are in denial. However, when Billy tells Paul he’s going to back off, Paul accuses billy of abandoning him, leaving Billy unsure of what to do next.
Also, Ryan pleads with Ali to attend a support group; Derek confesses to Izzy that he has a drink problem and when Izzy offers to support him, he asks her on a date.
Coronation Street, Wednesday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.
Victoria’s spirits are lifted from meeting Luke again and she’s torn when she’s asked if she wants to know the baby’s sex.
Meanwhile, at Butler’s barn, an up-to-no-good Mandy and Vinny are desperately searching for a bag.
Elsewhere, Vanessa is determined to put things right between Sarah and Danny; Marlon makes a heartfelt plea.
Emmerdale, Wednesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.
Ste walks slowly through Stuart’s house absorbing the devastation. Elsewhere, Stuart tells his wife to take the kids and disappear for a bit. Back at the house, Ste is like a zombie as he walks towards injured Yasmine in the Maalik’s yard, but Jonny shouts to help him instead. Misbah and Sami arrive but Jonny rejects Misbah’s help.
Everyone is still celebrating at The Loft until messages start arriving about the explosion. Sami drags Ste into the Maalik’s house and finally makes him realise that he’s been groomed. Yasmine is rushed into hospital, but she can hardly hear what anyone is saying.
Ste visits Jonny in hospital and can’t believe that even now, Jonny is refusing to be treated by any medical staff who aren’t white. He asks Jonny directly – have I been groomed? Stuart arrives and gets them both out of the hospital before the police arrive. He tells Ste, Jonny and Dave to do exactly what he says, or the police will be the least of his problems.
Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
Ruhma’s attempts to get in touch with Theresa and Phil prove fruitless. Jimmi joins her by Josh’s incubator, today they are his family. The baby is taken off life support and placed in Ruhma’s arms where he eventually passes away.
Dr Fielding calls the time of death as Ruhma kisses Josh’s forehead and Jimmi gently places his body into a cot. Ruhma steels herself to tell a heartbroken Theresa and Phil that their beloved son has gone. They are grateful that Ruhma was there with Josh and they all sit and pray.
Meanwhile, Eve is furious when she catches Al doing an online search for Ray. Later, Eve is affronted when Al challenges her about not telling Ray about her dementia diagnosis.
