Buckle in for some serious fireworks down in the Dales.
The ITV soap has teased an explosive series of episodes as part of its autumn season.
Cain (Jeff Hordley), Moira (Natalie J. Robb), Nate (Jurell Carter), Robert (Ryan Hawley), Aaron (Danny Miller) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) will all find themselves in hugely life-changing situations this fall.
There are explosive scenes as Cain finally discovers that Moira has been having an affair with farmhand Nate right under his nose. And hell hath no fury like a Cain Dingle scorned. . .
Meanwhile, taking stock of the dire circumstances they are in, Robert and Aaron decide to go on the run from the hefty sentence they fear Robert faces.
Amongst the darkness, there’s a ray of light as Chas gives birth to her beautiful baby in true Dingle fashion.
Earlier this month, Emmerdale writer Sharon Marshall teased on This Morning that the soap was filming something that would blow viewers’ socks off. Appearing on the magazine programme in her capacity of soap expert, she said “we were actually filming something yesterday that is hopefully going to blow your socks off for October,” in likely reference to the explosive week in question. The Dales-based soap annually has a big week of episodes in mid October around the time of its birthday. Created by Kevin Laffan, the rural saga first hit screens on October 16, 1972.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
